Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the studio, "you") and BoothBook ("BoothBook", "we"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you may bind that business.
1. What the service is
BoothBook is a booking, intake, consent and front-desk application for tattoo studios. It gives you a public booking page, deposit tracking, intake and consent forms signed on the client's phone, design-approval records, a booth-rent ledger, and related tools.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for everything done under your account, including by staff you invite. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to run a business in your jurisdiction.
3. Free trial
New studios get a 14-day trial with full access. No card is required to start. When the trial ends, the account becomes read-only until a plan is chosen. We may change or end the trial offer at any time; it is one trial per studio.
4. Plans, billing and renewal
- Solo — $15/month. One artist.
- Studio — $25/month. Unlimited artists, guest artists and apprentices.
Prices are per studio, not per chair or per person, and are shown in US dollars, excluding any taxes we are required to add. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next renewal. Failed payments may cause the account to become read-only after a grace period.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from Billing; access continues to the end of the paid period. We do not refund partial months. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days and we will investigate and refund where the charge was our mistake.
6. Client payments and deposits — important
BoothBook records deposit and prepayment status. We are not a payment processor for your clients and we do not hold, route or guarantee your clients' money. Deposits and prepayments for tattoo services are collected by you, directly, through your own payment method, and you are the merchant of record for those transactions. When a booking shows as confirmed, it reflects that you marked the deposit as received.
You are solely responsible for your pricing, deposit policy, refunds to your own clients, and any consumer-protection rules that apply to your business.
7. Your data and your clients' data
You own the data you put into BoothBook: client records, bookings, notes, forms and consent records. We process it to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are the controller of your clients' personal data and must have a lawful basis for collecting it — including telling clients what you collect and why. You can export your data at any time and we will delete it within 30 days of a verified request, subject to legal retention rules.
8. Consent forms are not legal advice
The default consent template is a starting point, not a legal document drafted for your jurisdiction. You are responsible for the wording you use, for keeping records as long as your local rules require, and for verifying a client's age and identity.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use BoothBook to: break any law; send unsolicited bulk email; upload malware; attempt to access other studios' data; resell or white-label the service without a written agreement; scrape or reverse engineer the application; or store content you have no right to store. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other customers at risk.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify features, and will give reasonable notice before removing something material that you depend on. Planned maintenance is announced where practical.
11. Third-party services
The service relies on hosting, email and payment providers. Their outages can affect BoothBook. Where you connect a third-party account, your use of it is governed by that provider's terms.
12. Intellectual property
BoothBook, its code, design and documentation remain ours. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your subscription is active. Your content remains yours.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of records, or that the service will be error-free. You remain responsible for your own business records and legal obligations.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost bookings or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your dealings with your clients, or your breach of these terms.
16. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for material breach, non-payment, or illegal use. On termination we handle data as described in section 7.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which BoothBook is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them.
